Name
From Promise to Practice: Strengthening the U.S.-Africa Trade and Investment Partnership (By-Invitation Only)
Date & Time
Monday, December 7, 2026, 4:15 PM - 5:45 PM
Description

For years, American and African government and business leaders have called for a trade and investment partnership that matches the full scale of the opportunity between the United States and Africa. That conversation has never been more urgent — or more consequential.

Africa's accelerating regional integration, the transformative potential of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement, and a rapidly shifting global trade environment have created both new pressures and new openings. The question is no longer whether a more comprehensive U.S.-Africa commercial framework is needed — it is what that framework should look like, and how to build it.

This invitation-only roundtable brings together a select group of senior American and African public and private sector leaders to move beyond diagnosis and toward action. Building on high-level discussions at the last two CCA Summits, as well as Ministerial Sessions at MC14 and Biashara Afrika, participants will engage in a frank, results-oriented conversation aimed at producing a concrete agenda for expanding two-way trade and investment. Key areas of focus will include identifying priority sectors for deeper commercial engagement, strengthening public-private coordination, and defining the policy and institutional mechanisms needed to translate ambition into outcomes.
